Locks of Love!

On Tuesday of this week, 11 y/o donated her hair to Locks of Love, which is a non-profit organization that helps disadvantaged kids with cancer or other diseases by giving them wigs made with real hair. Go to their web site and you'll be able to see some of the people who have been helped, as well as some of the people who helped them. It's very touching.

11 y/o had started growing her hair long about 1 1/2 to 2 years ago with the intention of donating it. She has extremely thick hair. The longer it got, the more difficult the tangles would become. I suppose most girls with long beautiful hair cry - at least a little - when they get their hair cut. Not my girl. She was R-E-A-D-Y! So was I!

Now, if only I could get 8 y/o to follow suit...my vaccuum cleaner would be very happy!

Success! Ten inches gone! Isn't she pretty?
